Shadow Moon by Marilee Brothers Review and Giveaway!

BLURB: Allie Emerson is hoping for a few quiet months to catch her breath after a summer that included the discovery she is not only a twin and of faery blood, but also destined to play a pivotal role in the faery world. School has barely begun when Allie must kiss her hope of a normal year goodbye. She can’t escape her unfinished business with the fae, the Trimarks, or Junior Martinez who is making it clear he plans to win her back. Signs, portents and whispers are pushing Allie to “find the girl” before it’s too late. Hoping her twin can help her solve the riddle of their destiny, Allie uncovers old secrets and begins a cross-country journey that puts her in more danger than ever before. If she succeeds, she may just find the answers that can save everyone she loves.

REVIEW: Shadow Moon is Book Four in Marilee Brothers Unbidden Magic Series. The series revolves around teenager Allie Emerson who lives in Peacock flats with her mom Faye. Allie is a star seeker a group of people identified by a star on their palm. They work together to protect the world from trimarks who also have a mark on their palm but their's is a triangle. Allie begins to learn about herself and her parents in book one 'Moonstone'. Her friend Kizzy is part gypsy and the caretaker of the Moonstone pendant. Kizzy reveals that Allie is the prophecy girl, the one who is destined she to wear the Moonstone and lead the star seekers. In each book Allie learns a bit more about her destiny. Shadow Moon takes up the story when Allie has learned that she is of royal fairy blood. Allie also discovers that she is a twin and must find and convince her twin to join her in the fight against the trimarks. Junior Martinez is back from Mexico and ready to resume their relationship. I enjoy the series paranormal elements. Who can resist magical pendants, demons, and the fae? One aspect sets this series apart from many others - Allie does not lead a fairytale life. She must deals with everyday issues in the midst of her adventures from living in a small trailer and dealing with the threat of social services taking her from her mother, to an absentee father, and break ups with boyfriends the series stays grounded in real life. Shadow Moon ends with a cliffhanger, so be prepared to buy book 5! I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
